- 4 oz. milk chocolate chopped
- 4 oz. dark chocolate chopped
- 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts optional chopped
For the hot fudge:
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips divided in half
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For toppings:
- vanilla ice cream
- maraschino cherries for garnish
Step 1: Prepare the Brownies
Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and coat it lightly with nonstick spray.
Melt and Mix: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, oil, chocolate, and cocoa powder together. Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth, then take it off the heat
Incorporate Sugar and Eggs: Stir in the sugar and vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition until the batter thickens and becomes glossy.
Fold in Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Be careful not to overmix. Add chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 30–35 minutes. Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before cutting.
Step 2: Make the Hot Fudge Sauce
In a saucepan, whisk together the cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture starts to boil.
Lower the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for five min.
Remove from heat and whisk in half the chocolate chips, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth, then add the remaining chocolate chips for added texture.
Step 3: Assemble the Sundae
Cut the brownies into squares.
Place a warm brownie in a bowl or on a plate.
Add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Drizzle with hot fudge sauce.
Top with whipped cream, a cherry, and any additional toppings.
