  • 1 bag Tortilla chips High-quality for best crunch
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend) Use a mix for enhanced flavor
  • 1 can Black beans (canned and drained)
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes Add after baking for crunch
  • 1/2 cup Chopped green onions Add after baking for better flavor
  • 1/2 cup Jalapeños (fresh or pickled) Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream For serving
  • 1/2 cup Guacamole For serving
  • 1/2 cup Salsa For serving

Seasoning ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For mixing with black beans
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix black beans with olive oil, cumin, chili powder, and salt until well combined.
  • Evenly distribute the seasoned black bean mixture over the tortilla chips.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese on top of the chips and black beans.
  • Add diced tomatoes and jalapeños on top of the cheese.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the nachos from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro.
  • Serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side.

Notes

To achieve the best crunch, use sturdy tortilla chips and consider placing half the cheese between the layers of chips and toppings. Store leftover nachos separately for best texture.
