Crockpot Pizza Casserole

This easy-to-make casserole combines all your favorite pizza flavors into a hearty dish, perfect for busy weeknights and gatherings.

Ingredients
  

Meat and Base

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

Vegetables and Toppings

  • 1 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni Add more for extra kick!

Pasta and Cheese

  • 3 cups cooked pasta (like rotini or penne) Use pre-cooked pasta to maintain texture.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Add 15 minutes before serving.

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage with the chopped onion and minced garlic for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Pour the cooked meat mixture into the crockpot.
  • Add the pizza sauce and canned diced tomatoes to the crockpot.
  • Mix in the chopped bell pepper and sliced pepperoni.
  • Add the cooked pasta and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix gently until well combined.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low. Cook for 4-6 hours.
  • About 15 minutes before serving, add the shredded mozzarella cheese and cover to allow cheese to melt.

Serving

  • Serve hot, scooping portions into bowls. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, omit the meat and add extra veggies like zucchini or mushrooms. Experiment with various toppings for customization.
