  • 1 pound fresh okra, trimmed and halved
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or your favorite cooking oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) for heat

For serving

  • Fresh lemon juice (optional, for serving)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Rinse the fresh okra under cold water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  • Trim the ends of the okra and slice them in half lengthwise.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved okra with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if desired. Toss everything until the okra is evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Add the okra to the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  • Air fry the okra for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crisping.
  • Check for desired crispiness starting at the 8-minute mark.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove the okra from the fryer and let it cool for a minute.
  • Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the okra before serving, if desired.
