For the Fudge Base

  • 7 oz container marshmallow creme
  • 2.5 cups white chocolate chips Use high-quality chips for best results.
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Adjust if you prefer a stronger mint flavor.

For Topping

  • 0.5 cup crushed candy canes To add a festive touch.

Preparation

  • Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

Fudge Mix

  • In a large bowl, combine the marshmallow creme and white chocolate chips.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and heavy whipping cream over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  • Let it boil for about five minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the peppermint extract.
  • Pour this hot mixture over the marshmallow and chocolate mixture and stir until well blended.

Setting the Fudge

  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the top and gently press them in.
  • Refrigerate for at least two hours or until firm.
  • Once set, remove the fudge using the parchment paper overhang and cut into squares.
