  • 1 lb ground turkey Use good-quality ground turkey for the best texture.
  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds creaminess to the chili.

Preparation

  • In a large pot, heat over medium heat and add the diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  • Add the ground turkey and break it up as it cooks, browning it evenly (around 5 to 7 minutes).
  • Stir in the diced green chilies and the rinsed white beans, then pour in the chicken broth.
  • Add the spices (cumin and chili powder), and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Simmer for about 25 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.

Notes

Allow the chili to rest for a few minutes after cooking to enhance flavors. Serve with fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, or avocado slices.
