  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature for optimal creaming.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Spoon into the measuring cup without packing.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts Chop into uniform pieces for even distribution.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped walnuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden at the edges.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
