Ingredients
For the cake
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened At room temperature

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup milk At room temperature
- 1 cup sugar cookie dough Store-bought or homemade
For the frosting
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened At room temperature
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For frosting
- Additional cookie dough balls For topping
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Alternately mix in the flour mixture and the milk, starting and ending with the flour.
- Gently fold in the sugar cookie dough using a spatula.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the greased pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
Cooling and Frosting
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and top with additional cookie dough balls.
Serving
- Slice the cake into generous portions and serve. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream or chocolate syrup if desired.
