  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Ensure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour Measure correctly using the spoon and leveled method.
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cups sprinkles For decoration.
  • N/A N/A Gel colors (Pink, Royal Blue, and Violet) For coloring the dough.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the sprinkles gently.
  • Divide the dough into three equal portions and knead in the gel colors to tint each portion.
  • Gently swirl the colored doughs together to create a marbled effect without overmixing.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, rolling them in additional sugar or sprinkles.

Baking

  • Place the dough balls on the prepared cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
