Ingredients
  

For the Tofu Fries

  • 1 14-ounce package extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained Ensure tofu is pressed to remove excess moisture.
  • 1 cup almond meal or almond flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun spice seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

For the Sriracha Dipping Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons dairy-free plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro, finely chopped
  • Juice from half lime lime

Instructions
 

Oven Method

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Slice the pressed tofu into 3-inch strips.
  • In a food processor, combine almond meal, shredded coconut, nutritional yeast, Cajun spice, salt, and pepper, and pulse until resembling breadcrumbs.
  • Set up two bowls: one with almond milk and the other with the breadcrumb mixture. Coat each tofu strip in almond milk, then in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Place coated tofu strips on the lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart, and lightly spray with cooking oil.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Air Fryer Method

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the tofu into strips as in the oven method.
  • Prepare the breadcrumb coating as done above.
  • Coat the tofu strips in almond milk and then in the crumb mixture.
  • Arrange the coated tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry at 375°F for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
