  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Any brand of chocolate cake mix will work.
  • 2 large eggs, whisked Make sure to whisk them well before adding.
  • 1/3 cup oil Vegetable oil can be used.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Melted butter can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder Unsweetened cocoa powder is ideal.
  • 3 tablespoons milk Regular or any plant-based milk can be used.
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar For the frosting.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, whisked eggs, and oil until fully blended.
  • Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and stir in the cocoa powder until smooth. Add this mixture to your dough.
  • Gradually stir in the milk until the dough reaches a smooth consistency.
  • Using a cookie scoop, portion out the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes until set around the edges and soft in the middle.
  • While the cookies are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing the powdered sugar, remaining cocoa, and milk until smooth.
