Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoons butter Divided
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cooked rice (optional)
  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cooking

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the skillet. Season them with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, allowing it to simmer for 5-10 minutes, so the flavors meld together.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until fully combined. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • If using, add the cooked rice and mix well to combine.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter for extra richness.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
