Ingredients
  

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 1 package sweet potato patties (cut in half)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon (for topping)
  • Brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut sweet potato patties in half and set aside.
  • Open the can of crescent rolls and separate each roll into triangles.
  • Place a half of a sweet potato patty on the wide end of each triangle of crescent roll dough and roll it up.
  • Arrange the rolled dumplings side by side in a glass baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and butter. Heat until the butter melts and sugar dissolves, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the buttery sauce over the arranged dumplings.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on top of the dumplings.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
