  • 1 pound chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless Use either thighs or breasts based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup store-bought sweet chili sauce Adjust according to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Can use low-sodium soy sauce as an alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons water To mix with cornstarch.
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring they are well-coated, and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
  • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight. Adjust the heat level by adding red pepper flakes or reducing the sweet chili sauce.
