  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen broccoli florets.
  • 1 bell pepper, diced Any color bell pepper works.
  • 1 small onion, chopped Yellow or white onion recommended.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari Use tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup For sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or your favorite hot sauce Adjust to taste for spice.
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Can substitute with fresh ginger.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For sautéing.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • Cooked brown rice or quinoa, for serving Use as the base for the bowl.
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish Optional for topping.
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish Adds freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic to the pan, and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until it turns light brown and is fully cooked, around 6-8 minutes.
  • Add broccoli florets and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for another 5 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sriracha, ground ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce over the turkey and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over cooked brown rice or quinoa, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For variation, substitute ground turkey with chicken or tofu. Adjust sweetness and spice as desired. Leftovers can be reheated with added moisture for best results.
