Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz marshmallows 1 package
  • 2 tablespoons butter Unsalted recommended
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree Optional for extra flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by greasing it lightly with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  • Once melted, add the marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  • If using strawberry puree, mix it into the melted marshmallow mixture along with the vanilla extract and salt. Stir until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  • Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.

Assembly

  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press down firmly to create an even layer.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For serving, arrange on a platter and optionally drizzle with extra strawberry puree or sprinkle colorful sprinkles. Store treats in an airtight container for 3-5 days. To freeze, wrap individually in plastic wrap.
