  • 10 tbsps 10 tbsps unsalted butter - melted Provides moisture and richness.

For the filling

  • 2 cups 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries The star ingredient that offers freshness and juiciness.
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp cornstarch Helps thicken the strawberry filling.
  • 2 tsps 2 tsps lemon juice Enhances the strawberry flavor and adds brightness.
  • 2 tbsps 2 tbsps white granulated sugar Sweetens the strawberry mixture to your preference.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease an 8×8-inch baking tin and line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Pour the melted butter into the dry mixture and stir until fully mixed to resemble wet sand.
  • Reserve 3/4 cup of the oat mixture for the topping.
  • Press the remaining mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking tin.

Filling and Baking

  • In another bowl, combine strawberries, cornstarch, lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Toss to coat.
  • Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the crust.
  • Sprinkle the reserved oat mixture over the strawberry layer.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes or until the top is golden.

Finishing Up

  • Allow the bars to cool completely in the tin before lifting them out and slicing.
