Ingredients
  

For the Cookies

  • 1 cup sugar Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped Should be fresh for best flavor

For the Cream Cheese Filling

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and softened butter until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract to add moisture and flavor.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture and stir gently to combine.
  • Fold in the chopped fresh strawberries until evenly distributed.
  • Prepare your baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Assembly

  • Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Create an indentation in the center of each cookie dough ball and fill with the cream cheese mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
