Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 500 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

For the Sauce and Vegetables

  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2-3 green chilies, sliced adjust for spice level
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Fresh coriander, for garnish

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and black pepper. Coat the chicken pieces in the mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken and fry until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add more oil if needed, then sauté the onions, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger until they soften.
  • Add sliced green chilies and cook for a minute to release their aroma.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, chili sauce, honey, vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the sautéed vegetables.
  • Stir in the cooked chicken pieces to coat them evenly with the sauce. Allow everything to simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.

Notes

For serving, present the dish on a large platter, and consider pairing with steamed rice or stir-fried noodles. Adjust the heat level by modifying the number of green chilies used. Fry chicken in batches for the best texture.
