  • 4.2 grams 4.2 grams vanilla extract (1 tsp) Adds a lovely aroma and depth.

Chocolate Chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sourdough discard, brown sugar, white sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop the cookie dough onto a lined cookie sheet and refrigerate for about 20 minutes.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes, until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
