Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened Should be softened, not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Provides chewiness.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to mix different types of chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Cream together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter-sugar mixture. Beat until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just incorporated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.

Baking

  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
