  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Increase for a stronger flavor if desired.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water Pour slowly over the top for the unique cobbler texture.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Incorporate melted butter into the dry mixture. Add milk and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Slowly pour water over the top without stirring.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
