Ingredients
  

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Rice and Sauce

  • 1 cup long-grain rice provides the right texture
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or a dairy alternative for creaminess
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken pieces and brown them on both sides, about 5-7 minutes each.
  • Once browned, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion softens and turns translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in the rice, coating it with the flavors from the skillet.

Cooking

  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low, returning the chicken to the skillet.
  • Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the chicken is cooked through.
  • After 20 minutes, stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to mix into the dish.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, and let it simmer for a few more minutes for the flavors to meld.

Notes

For optimal results, marinate the chicken beforehand with herbs and spices. You can also incorporate vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for added flavor.
