Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Should be just melted, not hot.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk

Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips Feel free to mix with white chocolate or nuts.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  • Stir in the egg yolk until combined.

Mixing and Baking

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Tiny bits of flour should still be visible.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown with a gooey center.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
