  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • to taste optional fresh herbs for garnish (such as parsley or thyme)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to make the process smooth.
  • Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden (optional).

Cooking

  • Transfer the seared chicken to the slow cooker and pour the chicken broth over the top.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, depending on your schedule.
  • Once the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing or shredding.
  • If desired, drizzle some of the cooking liquid over the chicken before serving.
