For the Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Peel and slice the apples, then place them in the slow cooker.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Mix until crumbly, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the apples.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours.
  • Check for doneness when the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
