  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Biscuit Layer

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits Can cut into quarters or leave whole.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can mix with other cheeses like Monterey Jack.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft.

Building the Casserole

  • Stir in ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper into the skillet. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spoon the meat mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and place the biscuit pieces over the meat mixture, spreading them out evenly.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
