Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Pour the fresh lime juice into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Add chicken broth for moisture.
  • Drizzle olive oil, then add minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  • Place chicken breasts into the slow cooker, ensuring they are fully submerged.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred using two forks.
  • Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir in chopped cilantro.

Serving

  • Serve immediately or keep warm while preparing toppings and sides.
