Pie Base and Filling

  • 1 each premade pie crust Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 pound ground hamburger meat
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place your oven rack in the center position.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground hamburger meat and sausage until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until they soften, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Mixing and Layering

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Stir in the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
  • Unroll the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish. Cut any excess dough hanging over the edges.
  • Layer the meat mixture at the bottom of the pie crust. Top with pepperoni slices and then pour the egg and cheese mixture over everything.
  • Fold the edges of the crust over to create a rustic look, pinching or crimping to secure if desired.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown and set in the middle.
  • Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
