Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for best mixing.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accuracy.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use a mix of chocolate types for enhanced flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture and beat well, ensuring everything is combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until no dry flour remains.
  • Fold in the Rice Krispies and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
