Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Use quality cocoa for best flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chunks

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until incorporated.
  • Add in the red food coloring and stir until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are crisp.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
