Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter (melted) Ensure to melt the butter until just bubbling.
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Canned Pure Pumpkin (unsweetened)
  • 1 large Egg Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups Flour All-purpose flour.
  • 2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Chocolate

  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Add more on top for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until bubbling lightly and golden.
  • Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, ensuring the mixture is warm but not hot.

Mixing

  • Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt gently until just combined.
  • Check the dough temperature; if warm, refrigerate briefly before adding chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out with a spatula. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 24-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick. The bars should be set but soft in the center.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes
