Equipment

  • Loaf Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
