Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it turns golden brown.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and place them on the baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown, and centers are soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
