  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1-2 tablespoons chili paste or Sriracha (optional for heat)

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, fresh lime juice, brown sugar or honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  • Use a whisk to blend the ingredients until smooth.
  • If you desire a thinner consistency, gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the sweetness or heat as needed by adding more brown sugar or chili paste.
  • Transfer the sauce into a serving dish or airtight container for later use.

Notes

Peanut sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about one week. Before serving, stir well and adjust the consistency with water if needed. For variations, consider adding coconut milk, different spices, or herbs to enhance the flavor.
