Brownie Base

  • 4 oz Dark chocolate, chopped High-quality dark chocolate is recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Melted with chocolate.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large Eggs Use room temperature for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Espresso powder Enhances chocolate flavor.

Peanut Butter Swirl

  • 1/4 cup Natural salted creamy peanut butter, warmed Warming helps with swirling.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Grease or line an 8x8 square pan with parchment paper.

Melt Ingredients

  • Melt the chopped dark chocolate and unsalted butter together in a double boiler or microwave, checking frequently.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mix Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and brown sugar, then combine with the cooled chocolate and butter mixture.
  • Whisk in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and espresso powder.
  • Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined to form a stiff batter.

Combine and Bake

  • Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Dollop warmed peanut butter on top and swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.

Cooling

  • Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting.
  • For fudginess, refrigerate for at least an hour before cutting.
