Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened Make sure it’s at room temperature.
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Opt for high-quality peanut butter.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 each egg Use at room temperature.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) For extra flavor.
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips (optional) Can be included for extra peanut butter flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon (if using). Set aside.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and peanut butter until smooth.
  • Add granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until combined.
  • Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk until lighter in color.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
  • Fold in peanut butter chips or any desired mix-ins.

Baking

  • Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until lightly browned and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the bars to cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes
