Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup peach butter
  • Extra sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly or using parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter and cut into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Slowly pour in the buttermilk, mixing just until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat or roll it out to about 1-inch thickness.
  • Cut out biscuits with a round cutter and arrange them on the prepared baking dish, leaving space between each.
  • Pour the peach butter evenly over the biscuits and sprinkle with extra sugar if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, start with cold ingredients and measure flour correctly. Avoid twisting the cutter when cutting the dough, and keep an eye on the biscuits as they bake.
