Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensure butter is softened, not melted.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Spoon into measuring cup and level off with a knife.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 3/4 cup Oreo cookies, crushed Adds crunch and flavor.
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or your preferred type.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • Drop large tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
