Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed) Use fresh juice for best flavor.
  • 1 large zest of an orange Zest before juicing the orange.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Mix until well combined.

Mixing

  • In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, gently folding until just combined.
  • Slowly add the melted butter, folding it into the batter until fully incorporated.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
