¾cupgranulated sugaradjust according to sweetness of oranges
2cupsheavy creamfor a thick and creamy texture
1Tbsp.orange Jellooptional, can be replaced with orange oil for flavor
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine fresh orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Whisk in the heavy cream gently to maintain a light texture. Add orange Jello or orange oil and mix well.
Chill the mixture and your ice cream maker's bowl according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn until thick and creamy.
If you don't have an ice cream maker, divide the mixture into ziplock bags, double-bag them for safety, and place in a larger container filled with ice and rock salt. Shake for about 20 minutes until thickened, then transfer to the freezer.
Store the ice cream in an airtight container with plastic wrap on the surface to prevent ice crystals from forming. Freeze for 1-2 weeks for the best texture and flavor.
