  • 4 cups powdered sugar Sift if lumpy for best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest Freshly grated for best flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice Use fresh for best taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation

  • Ensure your cream cheese and butter are at room temperature.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Beat on medium speed until creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  • Increase mixer speed to medium-high and beat for an additional 2 minutes until fluffy.
  • Add in the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until well combined and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or citrus flavor as desired.
  • Your frosting is ready to use! Spread it on baked goods or store for later.
