Ingredients

Filling:

  • 8 large Honeycrisp apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons butter sliced
  • ¼ cup apple juice

Topping:

  • 15.25- ounce box yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup butter melted

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased crockpot.
  • Drizzle vanilla extract and apple juice over the apple mixture. Dot the apples with butter slices for a rich flavor boost.

Step 2: Add the Topping

  • Even sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the apple filling. Make sure to distribute it evenly for consistent baking.
  • Pour melted butter over the cake mix in a zigzag pattern to ensure every inch of the topping gets buttery goodness.

Step 3: Cook the Cobbler

  • Cover the crockpot and set it to low. Let it cook for 6 hours, during which your home will fill with the most delightful aroma.
  • Once the edges are bubbling and the topping is golden brown, your cobbler is ready.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Pair it with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for an extra treat.
