Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar works best.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensure it's fresh for the best rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For flavor.
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins For a sweeter and chewy texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Mix well.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  • Stir in the rolled oats and raisins until evenly combined.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between cookies.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, do not overbake. For added flavor, experiment with nuts or coconut. Store in an airtight container.
