No-Bake Orange Creamsicle Dessert

Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs For a crunchy base

For the filling

  • 2 cups heavy cream Whipped until stiff peaks form
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sweetens the filling
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened Blend smoothly for creaminess

  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder Stabilizes the dessert
  • 3 tablespoons cold water For blooming the gelatin

Instructions
 

Preparation of the crust

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter, stirring until well blended.
  • Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to create an even layer.
  • Chill the crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.

Preparation of the filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip until combined.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  • Once bloomed, heat the mixture gently in the microwave for about 15 seconds or until fully dissolved. Stir in the orange juice and zest.
  • Combine the cream cheese mixture with the whipped cream, gently folding them together until fully combined.
  • Add the salted orange juice mixture to this and fold again until everything is uniform.

Assembly

  • Pour the creamy filling over the chilled graham cracker crust.
  • Smooth the top with a spatula, and then cover the dish with plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results, to let the dessert set.
  • Once set, slice the dessert into squares and serve chilled.
