For the shot

  • 4 oz tequila Use a good quality tequila for best flavor.
  • 4 oz watermelon juice Freshly squeezed recommended.
  • 4 oz lime juice Freshly squeezed for optimal taste.
  • 2 oz agave syrup Adjust to taste if you prefer it sweeter.
  • Chili powder For rimming the glasses.
  • Candy (like tamarind or sour belts) For garnish.

Preparation

  • Rim your shot glasses with chili powder by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into chili powder.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, watermelon juice, lime juice, and agave syrup.
  • Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture evenly into the chili-rimmed shot glasses.
  • Garnish with a piece of candy attached to the rim of each glass.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor.

Notes
