Ingredients
  

For the batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the filling

  • 1 cup filling of your choice (e.g. scrambled eggs, cheese, turkey sausage)
  • to taste Maple syrup for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat and lightly grease.

Cooking

  • Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each McGriddle Bite.
  • Add a tablespoon of your desired filling on top of the batter shortly after pouring.
  • Cover the filling with a little more batter to ensure it cooks through.
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, around 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the griddle and keep warm while you repeat with the remaining batter and fillings.

Serving

  • Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.
