Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups pancake mix or ingredients for homemade pancake batter
  • 1 large egg if using pancake mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk if using pancake mix
  • orange food coloring to achieve desired shade
  • green food coloring for the stem
  • chocolate chips for decorating faces
  • non-stick cooking spray for greasing the skillet

Instructions
 

  • Prepare pancake batter according to package instructions or your homemade recipe.
  • Remove about one-fifth of the batter and place it in a small bowl for the green stem.
  • Add orange food coloring to the remaining batter until you achieve a vibrant shade.
  • Add green food coloring to the small bowl of batter until it turns green.
  • Transfer green batter into a plastic sandwich bag and snip off a corner for piping.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray.
  • Ladle about 1/3 cup of orange batter into the skillet. Use the green batter to pipe a small stem on top.
  • Wait for bubbles to form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip the pancake and cook for another 15 seconds.
  • Transfer pancakes to a plate and repeat with remaining batter.
  • Serve warm, allowing everyone to decorate with chocolate chips to create faces.
