  • 1 pound ground turkey Choose lean turkey for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Provides moisture and creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup whole grain breadcrumbs Use preferably whole grain for added nutrition.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped Adds freshness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For flavor.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning For added flavor.
  • Olive oil to taste for cooking

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, ricotta cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Mix all the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Place the meatballs in the skillet, ensuring there’s space between each one.
  • Cook for about 7-10 minutes, turning occasionally until lightly browned and cooked through.
  • Alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freeze for up to three months for longer storage. Reheat in the oven or microwave, adding sauce to keep moist.
