Ingredients
  

Chicken and Sauce

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup orange juice Freshly squeezed preferred
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Garnishes

  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Orange Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger.

Make Cornstarch Slurry

  • In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.

Cook the Chicken

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the chicken pieces until golden brown for 5 to 7 minutes, ensuring they are cooked through.

Combine Ingredients

  • Pour the orange sauce over the cooked chicken and reduce the heat slightly. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve

  • Remove from heat and serve the Healthy Orange Chicken on a platter with any leftover sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh orange juice. Marinate chicken for 30 minutes for deeper flavor. Serve with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables. Can be stored in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days in the fridge or frozen for 2 to 3 months.
